What does buying an In Utero foal mean?
Buying an In-Utero foal is when someone purchases a foal before it is born,
or while in utero.
Pros:
Many times you can obtain a high quality foal for considerably less than you
would otherwise.
You don't have the regular costs of breeding your own mare, or the
care/costs involved.
Many times you can get a better quality foal.
Cons
You are not guaranteed color, sex, or conformation
You cannot see the foal before you buy it.
A Foal In Utero is $750: A deposit of $250.00 will hold the foal for you until birth, then another $250.00 is due when your foal is born (IF you are more than 1 week late with this payment unless prior arrangements have been agreed upon, it will be considered that you have changed your mind and you will forfeit your deposit due to breaking the contract ~~ if you need more time to make your payment PLEASE let me know in advance so we can agree upon new terms)....the balance is due when the foal is 5-6 months old and weaned (your choice to make monthly payments or wait and pay the balance when your foal is weaned)... you will receive the APHA paperwork when the balance has been paid in full on your foal (you can choose the name and we will pay the fees to register this foal before he/she is 2 months old) ...unless other arrangements have been made you are responsible for picking up your foal...if arranged ahead of time delivery may be available for an additional fee which of course depends on what state and how far I would have to travel.
Unlike many other places that charge for boarding and expenses during the weaning period – we do not charge for these services - During the weaning period no additional charges will be incurred by the purchaser – we supply creep feed, worming and trimmings charges for free!
Further, should your foal become crippled or die while in our care, your deposit is 100% refundable or if it is agreed by both of us, you can transfer the deposit to another available foal.
We can not guarantee what sex or color your foal will be, just what the breeding is and what color we expect.
We handle our foals from the moment they are born...(we then let them learn their horse manners with the herd ~~ being checked on a daily basis so they don't forget who or what humans are).....they will load in a trailer, be wormed, halter broke....
Remember: Deposits on foals are non-refundable if you change your mind, lose your job, etc. Please make sure that you really want and can afford the foal before you pay a deposit. You can't expect me to hold a foal for you for months and then because I won't let you take the foal home without paying in full say you changed your mind and want your deposit back because you don't have the money to finish paying. Now you can understand why no foal leaves until paid in full!
